Senior Scouts - 15-18 year olds - Look Wide
Rover Scouts - Scouting for Adults - Service and Outdoors

Senior Scouts
Senior Scouts are 15 - 18 year olds. Most of our Senior Scouts are doing their Duke of Edinburgh Awards, whilst scouting with Seniors from all over the country.

We meet on Thursday evenings to climb, plan weekends, and learn expedition skills.

Recent achievements from our Seniors include a snow hole expedition in the Cairngorms, a climbing weekend in Northumberland, wild camping in the Cheviots, climbing Tryfan, a four day expedition in Snowdonia for Gold D of E and Discovery Award, and taking part in an international Jamboree in Germany.

Rover Scouts
Rover Scouts are over 18s, who join to expand their skills, enjoy the outdoors and serve the local community.

We meet every other Monday evening to do anything from abseil down cliff faces in the dark to improving our cooking skills. We also arrange weekend trips in the mountains, and other weekends such as orienteering and survival!

As a group of adults we plan our programme together, led by Rover Scout Master, Clive Gray (who also happens to be a Winter and Summer Mountain Leader, has his Single Pitch Award for climbing and is the HQ Commissioner for Rover Scouts!) Activities will be tailored to those who attend in terms of their fitness and what they want to do! Contact Clive at scouts@1stwhittingham.org.uk or Ninette at GSM@1stwhittingham.org.uk

We have our own facebook page 1st Whittingham BP Rover Scouts Group, which keeps members up to date with forthcoming events, and is a great place for sharing our photos!

Here are some photos of our Rovers enjoying the Cairngorms and Lake District, with winter skills training, and also climbing Sharp Edge in the summer.
